OBJECTIVES FOR 2023 -2024
Visiting Artists, LLC is an organization whose mission is to provide housing, studio space and exhibit venues for member painters, sculptors, photographers and performing artists in Healdsburg and Sonoma County, California. Priorities for 2023 include acquiring Healdsburg 'in town' property suitable for artist housing, studios and small art events and to establish a artists rental property in Bodega, CA featuring studio space & housing.
'EXAMPLES OF TWO DESIRABLE 'IN TOWN' PROPERTIES IN DOWNTOWN HEALDSBURG
The historic 82 yr old building at 444 Healdsburg Avenue is in escrow with an option to purchase but it has not closed yet. Built in 1936 by F N Boulden, (local Blacksmith from 1937 to 1958) the property is adjacent to a city owned parking lot. There is large yard space in front of and behind building. The current owners have done concept plans to use the property for a community art center but did not apply for permits. Located 2.5 blocks from wonderful Healdsburg Plaza. Needs complete renovation or new construction for most uses.
Shared studio space in THE LOFT located at North Street & Center Street, 1 block from the Healdsburg Plaza could be offered if Visiting Artists negotiates a master lease for the historic building at 128 E. North Street designed by architect Harry Weese. This was the former studio of the late, well known Northern California artist Wade Hoefer.
